The Directors of The Madison Group are delighted to announce three new appointments as members of an advisory board to The Madison Group.

Simon Aimer, Mark Lowndes and Simon Bennett have joined Wynnis Armour and Marisa Fong to assist The Madison Group (comprising Madison Recruitment; Interim Taskforce; pursuIT Recruitment and FORCE Labour Solutions) achieve substantial growth. The Madison Group is focussed on building and reinforcing our extremely positive reputation in the NZ market and confirming our position as New Zealand’s leading recruitment and staffing solutions provider in the permanent, temporary and contractor recruitment sectors.

Simon Aimer - an Auckland based Management Consultant with a focus on strategy and performance improvement. A UK Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the IMechE, Simon holds a BE from Auckland, and an MBA from Parisian Grande Ecole ESCP-EAP. His professional background includes many years of working in North America and Europe, Consultant and then Principal with the Boston Consulting Group, GM Strategy and Marketing at TVNZ, founding MD for award winning nzcom.com, and Vice President with listed venture capital and bio tech investor Rubicon, before establishing his own consulting practice. Simon is a current or former member of numerous boards including Metrowater, Fletcher Challenge Forestry Argentina, Rubicon Forest Investments, Play it Strange Trust, the Institution of Professional Engineers and Campus Radio bfm.

Mark Lowndes - founder of Lowndes Associates has a broad ranging corporate and commercial practice; including stock exchange issues, management buyouts, banking and finance, private equity and venture capital, technology, telecommunications and international investment. Mark’s 29 years of commercial law practice commenced with Simpson Grierson and has included a period as in-house counsel for a multinational oil company, with involvement in international commercial matters and government affairs. He has held various company directorships. Mark led the legal work on over $450 million of M and A activity in the year prior to the GFC. Mark’s practice has a significant international component. He has participated in various trade missions and is active in a number of international trade organisations.

Simon Bennett – Simon has extensive commercial experience, having begun his career in FMCG sales roles and then set up his own food production business in the early 1990’s. Simon expanded his interests in this industry growing sales and profitability significantly, opening new retail sites, developing and building a specialised manufacturing facility and negotiating a number of significant commercial supply agreements with major organisations. Simon has been a director of several New Zealand businesses and Chairman of the Alumni Advisory Board of The Icehouse. Having exited his own businesses he is now working in a consulting capacity with a number of private companies.

Introducing

Susan Gray has joined The Madison Group as Client Relationship Manager after 10 years in the media industry in the NZ and UK markets.

We also welcome Katie Chalmers and Matt van Tuinen as Senior Consultants to Madison Recruitment’s Auckland team. Katie has over eight years recruitment experience from England and Australia, and Matt who is originally a Cantabrian, has been recruiting for the last five years in Amsterdam.

Events

Last month we were pleased to host Manukau Mayor Len Brown at The Madison Group Executive Briefing in Auckland. This was followed by an event in July with Auckland City Mayor John Banks as our guest speaker.

Our Christchurch team and clients had the pleasure of listening to Westpac’s Chief Economist Brendan O’Donovan who delivered a particularly interesting talk on the current market. We look forward to hosting him in Auckland some time in the future.
